Help, help.

There are currently 8 teenage boys in my garden, charging around like lunatics, winding the dog up into a frenzy and making him forget that he already has had 2.5 hours exercise today and all the training that he has ever had.

How can I use clicker training to my benefit in such a circumstance?

Smile desperate attempt to lure her away from stressed new dog owners Smile

Phew that was a close one thanks needastrongone

Get the 8 teenage boys load a new xboy game - job done Smile

Or

Put dog on a lead and ask for a down click the second the dog is concentrating on you.

Ask for any behaviour that the dog will give you and click and reward. The boys are fantastic distraction training. You may need to have the best yummy treats and start with really easy commands that the dog does not have to think about much.

I will do that next time, to be honest, he loves and adores folk so much and all the boys are 'dog people' so perfectly happy to play with him and wind him up that I did leave them to it Smile

Glad you saw the funny side Smile

idir, even I feel the need to hide from the second thread as well - hence wheedling my way in here. Blush Grin

Do I get a treat? If I do, can it be chocolate instead of liver? Only I'm a vegetarian. Wink

Sorry to hear about your job needastrongone.

Bugger about your job needastrongone - how about doing a dog training course and retraining Smile

Mmm down in one! Grin

Dh is out and I've even been abandoned by my dog tonight. He's completely flaked out after deciding it was a good idea to hoon around the garden at tea-time when it was still far to hot for any sensible being to even walk around at a sedate pace. Hmm

It's 28.5 degrees in my bedroom, so can't even go to bed and read my current book.
