Ah, well I've filled mostly with cheap compost, trampled in and then the good stuff on top.

The dog keeps looking at the patches with THAT FACE on, like I have spoiled his fun

My DH has done this then he put mesh over the patches to discourage more digging, the lawn looks lovely now.
