I thought maybe typing it down might make me feel better

dropped her off at 11 and they said to ring at 3

she is 11, an old lady the vet said. I had to sign to say they had the right to euthanise her if they needed to, which I know is normal but it made me sad and I tried to tell dh and he said he didn't want to hear that bit Hmm and she seemed scared today and gripped to the floor and she never does normally

She is having root canal and dental work done. Poor lovely dog. She sat in the passenger seat of the car listening to the radio on the way there like my little human dog friend Blush

If it makes you feel any better, when I have lost animals under anaesthetic the vet has called me. So it's likely that no news is good news :)

Hertschick · 12/07/2013 14:48

Yes, I'm sure they would have called if anything had happened and wouldn't be waiting for you to call. It is natural to worry but fingers crossed all ok.

I have rang!
They saidshe hasn't long finished having her dental treatment but she has come round and she is okay, just will be very sleepy for a while and to pick her up at half 5

I think i need a glass of wine tonight Blush

Grin Enjoy your wine, and spoil your girl x

Frettchen · 12/07/2013 15:37

Aww, I bet you'll be giving her no end of fuss this evening (and so you should!)

The wait for the call from/to the vet is always awful; definitely a call for wine and a relaxing evening!

Scuttlebutter · 12/07/2013 16:09

I trust my vet implicitly, but even when they go in for really routine stuff like dentals I am a complete bag of nerves at home all day, can't settle to anything and feel like ringing the church bells when I get them home, so I understand completely. Big wine tonight, and gentle hugs for your patient.

Do you think people who don't have dogs understand how responsible you are for them and how attached you get to them? i was thinking about her today, she has been through so much with me. I had her 6 months after my sister died and she has always been such a lovely, faithful dog. We have moved house, had new additions to the family and allsorts. They really are part of the family arent they?

and when everyone else appears to be in a mood with me she never is

I will give her plenty of hugs, don't you worry :)

I just wanted to let you all know she was okay but she has done silent crying a lot and she is not whingey dog at all
but her swelling has gone down and breath smells nice and gums look lovely, as do remaining teeth
:)
