My gorgeous & greedy dog is seriously ill in dog hospital after eating a dropped kebab, stick and all. The kebab was dropped and he swooped out of nowhere and wolfed the whole thing down. He appeared fine for a couple of hours but then vomited which pushed the stick through his stomach and oesophagus.

So, several thousand pounds later, some serious post op complications and he's still in hospital.

Oh Christ. Scary stuff. Is he going to be ok?

ooh how horrible for you

Barbecues in general and dogs are something people might not think to be as dangerous as they are...between fire and dropped food they're a whole minefield.

I hope so, he's at Dick White Referrals in Newmarket who seem to be on the ball with everything. It's been a sombre week here though. What hasn't helped is that he's a Bulldog. Breathing issues tend to come to the fore under a GA.

Hope your dog is back home soon , that's the problem though when they know they're stealing they ram it down so fast they don't even stop to chew or look at what they're eating, for fear that someone might take it off them .

Yup, he practically inhaled it. Dh said the only way he could have prevented it was to have kicked him in the head. Which in hindsight would have been far less damaging.
