It's reduced to just bedtime and when were out, so off rest of the day and I noticed yesterday that she didn't go near the wound, just wondered how long everyone else kept the cone on for?

Didn't use one at all.

Sprayed area around scar with bitter apple for the first couple of days and left her to it.

In most cases, I think, stitches are removed - or if dissolvable should have dissolved - by around 10 days, so it should be ok to remove the cone at that point.

It's been a long time since I had a bitch spayed though. I know when lurcherboy was neutered his stitches were removed after 10 days, but he didn't have a cone at all and didn't seem to notice he'd been 'done' - but then neutering is a lot less invasive than spaying.

There are some vets on here though, so hopefully someone far more qualified than me will be along to advise you shortly. If not, you could make a quick call to your vets tomorrow morning and they should be able to advise you over the phone.

You should be ok to remove a cone after ten days as the skin should be healed by that point. If there have been any problems with the healing (infection, swelling, soreness from licking) you may need to leave it on until your vet is happy; but with an uncomplicated wound healing well by ten days it should be fine to leave it off for good.

Thanks all, vet saw her last week and was pleased with the healing as the ewok didn't mind the bucket at all it meant the wound could heal nicely, I think ill leave the collar now but avoid walks where she could get mucky for a few more days
