Not tried it myself, but this is a sunscreen for dogs and comes as a spray, stick or wipe, so you could choose whichever you felt would suit your dog best.

I just use whatever is on offer is supermarket or boots or whatever. Factor 50. I put it on dog and cats pink skin places (ears and nose) and on the ponies pink nose x

I tried sun cream on my dog's pink nose, and he just licked it off. Is it still worth doing?

Ooh not sure chicken. Maybe a waterproof one?! Tricky...

You can use human sunscreen but have to ensure it doesn't contain ingredients that are toxic to dogs, like PABA and Zinc Oxide (which can cause symptoms from mild nausea to vomiting, diarrhoea & anaemia if ingested). Also due to differences in sebum oily screens can be a pita and get licked off before they're absorbed.

I tend to stick a made for dogs brand in my basket when I stock up on advocate, it lasts ages so is worth it for us.

Also white patches/white dogs need a higher spf than most human sunscreens due to differences in melanin production in human & canine skin. Don't forget any cats!

Wow good advice bursar. I will definitely be checking mine now for those chemicals. Thank you

Thanks for the info. Think I need a trip to the pet shop. Don't want to poison her!
