Dogs pre jabs - this might sound stupid but do they get really bored?!

We got a puppy the other day and he's absolutely gorgeous and settling in well. He had his first set of jabs the other day and effectively can't go out for another 3 weeks (minimum, maybe 4?) I took him to my mum's the other day and he had a brilliant time playing with my mum's (fully vaccinated) puppy and was so worn out afterwards he slept for the rest of the day!

I just worry about him now though, as I work from home so can't play with him all the time (and certainly not to the extent that he played the other day) and he's either trying to eat all the shoes/climb into the dishwasher or is just asleep. Maybe I should stop anthropomorphising,and perhaps he's fine, or should we be doing more? He plays with the kids but during the day it's just me and I'm not very exciting. Christ, it's just like having a new baby...

I used to take mine out every day in my arms to see a bit of the world. Car ride to somewhere new maybe a park bench watching the kids playing,in high street or near a road to see traffic, then pop him on your lap for 20 minutes to watch. Loads of people will stop and say hello too, which is good for socialisation
Just having that something new to experience wore mine out quite a lot!

Thank you! I'm trying to teach him not to jump up and scratch things (legs, clothes, sofas) and have been trying to ignore him when he does this but it makes me feel mean and I start thinking he's sad because he thinks I'm rejecting him and he misses his family.

I'm aware I sound like a total nutcase. I have a lot to learn.

I took him out for carries and did wee training sessions, between that and just getting into puppy mischief he was fine...mine still does rushing round into everything and then unconscious with no real in-between, lol

Puppies should sleep a lot, so it's absolutely fine if they aren't constantly entertained.

Yep, we are in the same phase. We take her out in arms on walks when we take the older one out, she comes on car rides to the shops, I put the collar and lead on and walk her around the garden, and we have taken her to the beach at low tide - carried her down to the sand then let her walk for a bit. We have 1 week to go, so need to start working heavily on recall in the garden this week!

Oh and yes to the sleeping. We are getting some long naps in both morning and afternoons. I purposely leave the room when she is asleep.
