Bad reaction to vaccination

My shih tzu has now had two yearly boosters, the first he was perfectly fine. The second he was really bad, so much so that I thought I was loosing him. He cried for three days, sick , pooing and weeing all over the place and had a sky high temperature.
Vets said it will pass and it did but it was heart breaking and I cried myself to sleep for the three nights.
He is now back to his bouncy lil self which is such a relief.
The vet said not all vaccinations will be like that but I'm terrified of it happening again.
Has anyone else experienced this?

No but I know other people's dogs who have. I don't want to start an anti-vacc binfest here but personally, after two boosters I was inclined to put a stop to them. Having said that, it is still absolutely essential to vaccinate puppies.

You can do a titra blood test to see if they have immunity....they then may not need a further vaccination

One of my Yorkies had the same.
Vet said there was no such thing Angry
