Can't cope with dog..

I have 3 young DC and 2 dogs, a male & female labrador. DH has just started a new job which means is is away a lot. Oor first dog is very laid back and gentle but our second dog (the male) has always been very hard work. He's been to puppy training, kennel club training and also seen a behaviorist, he is just naturally very bouncy and very large.

I am really struggling to cope with him & keep up with his energy levels. He is very difficult to control despite so much training and I find I am stressed most of the time because of him.

I feel terrible rehoming him., we all love him very much but I just can't cope and can't meet his needs. Is teh RSPCA the best option?

I get really irriated with people who dont think before they get a dog (or two in this case). It is no surprise that when you get a young lab dog he is going to be energetic. What on earth did you expect.

Please please think before you act on impluse. Its not FAIR on the dog

What surprises me re both the threads today is how people get dogs and are then surprised at how big they get . If you get a Labrador its going to be as big as a Labrador , likewise if you get a wolfhound . I couldn't envisage parting with any animal , we keep our horses for their entire life as well . What annoys me is people saying how upset they are about re homing when the reasons for doing so are so poor . If it bothered you that much you wouldn't consider it unless it was for a proper valid reason I.e health, losing your house etc. I appreciate some people do have no choice but that is not true in this case . Sorry if that sounds harsh .

I have a relative who wants a dog who doesnt need to be walked every day! God help that dog. It makes me very angry..

I also cannot help getting ever so slightly irritated by people who seem surprised that if they buy a large breed, then what they are going to get is a large dog.
