Dog howls to music

My dog howls when I put certain songs on. It's quite funny and cute.

Does this mean he likes it or he's scared or something?

My 7 year old JRT "sings" to opera, the tune that accompanies the shipping forecast on Radio 4 and ambulance sirens. He throws his head back and produces the most hilarious arias. He didn't start singing till he was 2 and he seems to thoroughly enjoy it.

If your dog shows no sign of being distressed by music then I'd just assume he was a performer. Not a scared dog.

This is the Senior Terrier interpreting the opera!

GingerDog moans along when DS plays his oboe (though TBH I can't truthfully say I blame him!!)
His is more of a throaty gargle but as an almost exclusively silent dog it always makes me chuckle :o

My mums old dog was a singer . He sang to music being played or squeaked a squeaky toy and then sang after , it was very endearing . He was a huge mastiff X type .

Got to ask - is it Bach?

My old girl used to love singing along with a mouth organ. Hilarious. Never seemed distressed by it, it just seemed instinctual for her. My new chap doesn't do it at all (but he has other foibles!).

LOL Not Bach
