Possible ear inf - vet or OTC ear drops?

Groomer thinks permapup has ear infection. She's not overly bothered but groomer said one ear was quite grubby and she wouldn't let her pluck them.

Vets charge 30 quid per visit plus prescription. Is an OTC treatment a good thing to try in the first instance?

Thanks in advance.

It depends if they are just dirty or infected?

If infected antibiotics may be needed.

Until the ear has been looked in with an otoscope you won't know if it is a grass seed, infection or just dirty.
If there is a grass seed OTC drops can force it further in and potentially through the ear drum.
