Those screw in dog stakes... are they any good?

I need somewhere to tether my strong border collie-cross when we go camping. She's lovely with people but is fearful of other dogs & has fear aggression so I want to make sure she is secure when we go camping.

They are fine, or if you take a look in ukcampsites.co.uk, they recommend a flat delta tether that the dog can't get tangled on.

Thank you - I was looking on amazon but they all look quite flimsy and not sturdy enough. I didnt think of looking on uk campsite.

We took one camping last week. Springer Spaniel is strong but no behaviour worries. However, he couldn't help himself trying to dig it up! Didn't want to escape, just liked digging.

Work fine for our two dogs, we have to untangle them every now and then. They haven't managed to escape while we have been camping

Use them also when having a picnic so they don't get too close to the food.

The thought of my dogs on skates is terrifying!

For the sled dogs we use stakes like these, the corkscrew type ones not being secure enough.

We got one of those when puppy was small but never used it. It was at my parents and I said to DH we should bring it home as there's a situation coming up where we may need to use it. DH said there was no way it would be strong enough for our now one year old Golden Retriever. To prove it he screwed it into mums lawn and then attempted to pull it out - and he couldn't - with me and mum laughing our heads off at him!

So it's strong enough for a pretty strong 32 year old man!

We got one that's a foot long stake with a disc cap, only projects out of the ground a couple of inches. Delinquent dog has tested it to it's limits when a couple of geese came to say hello, and it held. Sorry, can't link, on mobile! When we were at the same place we saw a young boxer that had bent his corkscrew one to a good angle. I was really glad we'd gone with our spike, and would recommend it. We got ours from pets a home I think, somewhere mainstream anyway.
We find it holds a very determined spottydog, even when there are rabbits he wants to chase.
I do struggle to screw it into the ground sometimes if it has been very dry, so MrPanda has to do it.
