My dog is so miserable since he had his hair cut :( Any experience?

Does anyone have any practical tips on making him feel better? He is a 10 mo Bichon and I had to have him shaved after his hair got matted around his head post neutering and wearing a collar.
He really is sad. I think he doesn't feel like himself, and his body awareness is skewed. It doesn't help that it's a bit chilly . He has retreated under the table - very unlike him as he always sits on my feet or is out and about.
I'm wondering how long until he is back to normal.

My mum has a bichon and he used to be like this every time he was cut. They actually started taking him to pets at home and he loves it now. He is nearly 2 though so has gotten used to it. He would generally get over it in a couple if days but I'm not sure if they actually did anything that helped.

He's embarrassed to be seen by his mates in the park, he'll get over it. Wink

Could he be distracted by a pig's ear or similar? My 3 all hate being washed so they always get an extra special treat afterwards.

Cheese always cheers my pooch up.

Do you have a little t-shirt or jumper that he can wear? Maybe an old kiddies one that you don't need any more? Without his fur, it's hard for hiim to regulate his body temperature properly so he will be cold (equally if there is a heatwave tomorrow he will find it hard to keep cool). Poor little thing, hope he cheers up soon.
