Immunisations and walking (puppy)

I'm new to all this puppy business never had a dog myself I have a puppy, she's 10 weeks old and had her first lot of immunisations a week ago, she is so eager to go out its unbelievable. She's bored and its sad to see, me and dh both want to take her for a walk. What do you think?

I wouldn't, personally. My pup is 8 weeks old and had his first jabs last Saturday. He'll get his second jab a week a week on Saturday, and his first trip out with his paws on the ground a week/fortnight later (depending on vet's advice). She doesn't need to be bored, you can play games to tire her out. My pup is currently doing his best land shark impression chasing the DC around the garden and swinging off my washing line

There's no reason for her to need a walk to be entertained and it's taking a big risk with her health. She's not safe to be out until a least a week after her second lot of jabs.

No, not safe yet. Do some extra training and games with her to wear her out, plus take her out every day in your arms to see something of the world.
Like a loon, I was often found shivering on a bench in the high street with my pup on my lap in the cold snap in March. Pup loved it though and it really helped to socialise her, without subjecting her to danger!

Thank you all, she hasn't been and I won't take her. She is a very clever puppy, wev learnt sit, here, wait, bed and managed to stop the jumping up and nipping. Beautiful little thing, German shepherd, she has been a couple of times to my sister in laws who's puppy is a couple of weeks older and has had all jabs

It is crucial she gets out before her socialisation window closes at between 12 and 16 weeks, you can go for walks and carry her. Vets don't really get how important the socialisation window is and will tow the party line. I can't stress how important this is behaviourally.

My vet told me to take him everywhere, she just stressed not to put him on the ground.

So I used to take him out for a carry, then he got heavy, so DD helped me, lol.

Take your puppy everywhere with you - just don't put her down on the ground. This is what my vet told me. We bought a very cute doggy carrier with a nice window that opened and a mesh window too. She loved it....

Thank you all, looks like she's going for a carry tomorrow evening when I get in from work, she does socialise with other dogs particularly the puppy close to her age. We do also take her out in the car when we go to family and she plays on their garden

Mine used to ride in the hood of the pushchair before he could walk out and about, or I'd tuck him in my coat like a lovely hot water bottle! helps them get used to traffic etc and meet lots of people.

Any training tips? She's mastered sit, here and wait, wer working on bed and leave it m, she's getting good at them. We are thinking training classes once a week, as that will also help with her socialising with other dogs
