Stairs not for puppies

So today I got told off by the trainer for letting my 5mo old mini schnauzer puppy go up and down stairs. Apparently it causes damage to their joints and what not. Anyone here agree?

I've always been told that puppies shouldn't be allowed up and down stairs, and should be lifted into/out of cars. The age definition of 'puppy' varies with the size of the breed.

I work for an organisation which trains dogs from puppy, and remember hearing about how one of our puppies slipped/tripped on the stairs and ended up with a green stick fracture in her leg.

I have a giant breed - and that was the advice we got from the breeder, can you check with your breeder?

Aw ok, I was hoping someone would tell me it's nonsense, but there ya go! Flowers
