Mouses, I bath mine as little as possible because it strips the oils from his coat. I groom him regularly though, especially when he is shedding. Huskies shed twice a year and it is amazing how much fur comes off them. Because they have a double coat you'll need an undercoat rake.

It's a good idea to bath him while he is little so that he gets used to it, so if he needs a bath then give him one and make it a pleasant experience for him so that he will like it in future. When you go to the vet, you can get flea meds and dewormers as well as the vaccinations.

we have showered ours using washing up liquid once or twice when he has rolled in something. but as above you don't want to be bathing them regularly. i find brushing everyday helps with the smell i use a wide tooth comb and he loves teh massage.

We bath out puppy when he stinks. He tolerates rather than enjoys. We also wash his legs and underbelly using the water butt in the garden and he whines like crazy but usually after chucking himself voluntarily in the freezing cold local lake so he gets little sympathy.

Seriously, I groom him a lot using a kong zoom groom which relaxes him and makes him fluffy! I find you need to keep at it a bit though as at first it's hard to see if its working. It's only a few quid but a great little piece of kit.

We also have some grooming spray which I have only used twice when is was a particularly wet week and the damp dog smell was overwhelming. He smelt a bit like I imagine a porn star from the 70's might but better than damp dog. This was a few quid from amazon and can be used as often as required while grooming.

We feed a lot of raw food too and his coat is amazingly smooth and glossy but not sure if that's because of this or not. Good luck, you will be fine. Take advice from the experts.

Hi again Mouses, all depends on which 'crosses' coat he got, if its a Czech coat once he's a quick dip in baby shampoo to get rid of the puppy/wee smell he should never need a bath again. The occasional hose pipe when he's rolled in something dead!
Tomato sauce rubbed into fox poo when they've rolled, then rubbed off with a damp cloth will freshen him up.
Does he smell slightly 'mushroomy' ? You'll find he smells odd till his baby teeth have all fallen out xx
