Whats the best puppy food for a delicate tummy?

Puppy has had runny poo's again for a week or so (not watery but just very loose), am getting fed up with my garden being covered in poop that i can not pick up (unless its frosty), spring is on its way and the kids will want to play outside but this is impossable with runny poop everywhere. I need to find a good food to firm his poop back up. At the moment he is on wainwrights and has never been perfect on it but out of the foods we have tried he has been the best on this. We have tried JWB which gave him explosive poo's, he seems to have a chicken allergy so chicken and rice was no good.

What eles can we try?

Also, how can i clean up runny poop off my grass? is there something i can buy that will freeze it?

Last question, he seems to be very smelly, last time he had the runs we had his glands drained, does the smell mean they need doing again?

BARF diet. I hose with the jet spray any runny poo on my lawn! Also if fed raw food glands are emptied without need for any human help :-) win-win!

I've always used burns. They also deliver for free which is a bonus. I'm on phone, hard to link but google burns pet nutrition.

Boiled rice and chicken.

Ours was the same to begin with - we use the Symply diet from Pets Corner - he is thriving on it.

Also - it might be an idea to train him to poop in one place - we have a corner with bark chippings in which is where he goes poop and wee.... put him on the lead and take him there EVERY time he goes for a couple of weeks and he'll soon get the message - we have kids too - and don't want them to pick up nasty bugs from our dog's waste....

Reluctant-he has a chicken allergy (realy upsets his tummy) but have just given him some scrambled egg in hope it helps.

Would love to try the raw diet but at the moment i dont have a big enough freezer (although we are looking into it).

Just had a google and it seems 'burns' is quite good, my other dog has had burns before so i thin i will give it a try (if it works then i can put them both on it).

He does poop in one area (one side of the garden) but he's been going so often theres so much out there . We dont have a water suply out the back of ouor house so cant blast the lawn with the hose .

Fingers crossed we have a frost tonight so i can pick it all up in the morning (so much easier to peel it off the lawn when frozen), never thought i would get so excited about a frost . If it carries on we will section off a bit of garden (when the dd's cant go) for him to poop in.

Have ordered a bag of burns puppy (lamb and rice) from petsupermarket. Never realised you could buy online.

My labs both have autarky which is gluten free. I started them on it on the advice of a pet shop owner who had my dogs brother and he had the same problem as my dog as a pup: runny poos, bleeding, mucous etc

Royal Canin food is good too, but has your pup had any faecal tests done to rule out parasites or giardia(a protozoal infection) or bacterial infection like Camplyobacter, which may cause a chronic diarrhoea?

We havn't had any tests done, last time we saw the vet they treated for parasites as he was still passing bloods after having anti-biotics. After we treated for parasites things did improve slightly and he has not passed blood since. We have just been feeding him the dry food but did try him with a pigs ear last week (in hope to fatten him up) which seemed to give him the runs. Also he likes to hoover the floor and pick up things when we are walking which doesn't help. We seem to have 1 good wook of almost firm pooo's and then 2 weeks of runny poo's.

I will put Autarky of my list to try after the burns as i know our local petshop sales it as i have fed it to my other dog.

I gave him some more rice and scrabled egg this morning which has helped a little.

Hope it clears up soon, may be worth keeping him on white fish/egg and rice for a few days and gradually introduce kibble as he improves. I feed Fish4Dogs which is great. My old dog had allergies and though Burns suited the rest of them, I moved onto Fish4Dogs/Orijen and the then 10 year old dogs allergies disappeared.

Well, we are on day 2 of Burns, his poo's are not as runny but a bit of mucus , we will give it a week and see if it settles down.

We prefer raw feeding most of the time, but when we are short of time/freezer space, we use Burns. It is the only kibble that both ours will eat regularly, they like the duck and rice flavour though when we use it we tend to vary regularly.

Almost solid poop today , will give it a couple more days and if all is ok i will order some more (none of the shops seem to stock the burns puppy food, just the adult so will have to order online), he seems much calmer too which has to be good?
