Home boarding in Plymouth - help!!

We are off to a wedding on the 15th April in Plymouth (we are based in Yorkshire) and are off for a weeks holiday after so our border collie is coming with us. I don't want to put her in kennels for two nights as she would find it very stressful so have been hoping to find somewhere that does home boarding. Out of the four places I have contacted, only one has got back to me and they said they wouldn't home board without meeting the dog first, talking through things with me on the phone would not be enough. Fair enough I suppose but we're getting a bit stuck!
We used to board a bit ourselves so our dog is very well socialised etc but this doesn't seem to be any help.
Does anyone on here know of anyone...?!

Might it be worth contacting a BC rescue such as Wiccaweys and asking if any of their foster carers are in that area that might be willing to help out, for a donation to the rescue?

Thanks for your reply.
I've donated to Wiccaways before (they were a wonderful help with my dog when she started chasing / nipping) and they are brilliant.
I've actuall had someone say they will take her now, a franchise from Barking Mad, but am in two minds as they collect your dog, and bring her back (for an extra £30!) and we won't meet the host family. This sounds weird to me.
Right, will get emailing Wiccaways and see if I can find a plan B!
