Tbh I thought it was a bit early to try him but the training had been going so well.

But it was raining. He wouldn't sit, and ran away for the recall part :(

Oh well, back to training :

Sad My little dog flunked out of the silver course because he just could not put up with the bit where he was supposed to let a stranger "examine" him (touch him all over) without growling like a little traction engine.

I'm sure you'll get there next time.

I'm sure you will get there. Pimmsdog passed his practice test with flying colours but then ate a sandpit full of sand and was throwing up and at the emergency vets when it came to the real test. We just took the practice as a pass and figured we were happy with where we had got to in the year of having him and are taking a well earned rest before thinking about it again.

aaahhhh So sad for the dogs. No point in trying with mine as known as a stubborn, deaf-eared breed. But she's cute, well behaved at home and quiet. Oh and beautiful.
Just have to keep her on the lead.

Brown dog got detention after hers. The only way she would 'stay' is if they chained her to the radiator.

She does 'wait'. As far as she's concerned, 'stay' means 'woohoo, come and play with me, right now this second! Let's go!'

Did you suggest or did your trainer?

RedwingWinter · 16/03/2013 18:49

Aw never mind Tantrums. One of my dogs hesitates before sitting in the rain sometimes too, I'm sure he's thinking 'do you really want me to get a wet bottom?'.
