Feeling really nervoud after hearing about local dog attack

Please tell me to get a grip! I feel really Sad

I live 5 minutes from a lovely country park. It is my mid week walking spot as I don't drive.

Walking ds to school and there was a letter from the dog warden appealing for info in the bakery window regarding a serious dog on dog attack which resulted in a Border Collie being pts. Sad

My little terrier pup and myself have been out of the local dog walking loop the last couple of weeks as he has been neutered and is not cleared for proper walks yet. I know lots of lovely dogs up there and just feel sad and know I am going to feel paranoid about every 'much larger tan coloured dog' I see which I know is not right either as there are lots and lots of lovely dogs and responsible owners there.

Also, whilst I don't wish it on anyone at all, I'm really hoping its not the quiet old chap who is up there all hours and weathers with his 2 collies sending them this way and that. He aways seems like his dogs are his life Sad

I will be back up there next week (fingers crossed as round the block is not cutting the mustard with pup now) and regularly chat to people so I will do. Being a popular spot there are lots of different people around but I see the same core group of local people around.

The spot it happened suggests both owners are relatively local though as happened near a footpath leading to houses rather than the main park itself. Non locals tend to use the car park or tye main entrance nearer my house.
