How many miles a day do you think your dog covers?

I've just got back from a 3.5 mile walk with my dog. We were out for an hour and a half. I was dawdling along and throwing the ball for at least half of that time. He must have covered a good 10 miles, if not more, during my 3.5. He's a bonkers spaniel, so would have happily kept going. Just curious as to how far your mutts travel in a day.

30 minutes is all I can do - but little dog would go on for miles. I got a breed that doesn't need much exercise, I take her out twice a day because she loves it.

Oh I dread to think already and he's only 5 months!!!!!!!!

In fact, since he's started 'growing a pair' (so to speak!), it's like there's no off switch anymore. He's still very good in the house and not too bonkers, just potters really, but can take tons more exercise and doesn't sleep half as much as he did. He seems so much stronger and looks more muscular and 'dog-like' iyswim?

We were out for an hour and a quarter this morning and he met loads of dogs so charged around like a loon. He's currently fast asleep as I HAD to do some work so he's in his crate in the kitchen, if I go in he will wake up.

He will get the same again later and would still be up for garden play and if DH fancies taking him out later.

We train him tons so he's getting the mental stimulation and will start his KC bronze on Saturday.

I don't mind at all but bloody hell!!

I saw this thread yesterday and laughed as I am often amazed by how much ground our springer covers, I have watched him carefully this morning and decided when walking he probably covers ten times what I do! Just got back and he has gone running off to explore the garden... no resting for him!

the hound i have now is quite happy with a walk up the local park so with getting there and back probably about 2 miles a day the cairn i had would happily do about 20 miles over the dales

I do like my springer swimming! He had a great swim today and loads of ball chasing to dry off. An hour and half out with constant movement from him. Then chewed a stick he'd brought back to the garden for a few hours. He's now zonked, and beautifully clean from the river.
