Just noticed it is on tv, always enjoyed it as a kid but feel like I shouldn't be watching it now? Something about in breeding? Feel free to educate me as I am quite clueless!

Saintmerry Hey, thank you for the apology - as someone with a disability and as an advocate for children with disabilities I am quite sensitive to derogatory terms. And that combined with my other passion which is dogs health and well being - well recipe for disaster! I'm usually very placid! Wine

Gregs
I went to Earls Court once as it was easy to get to on the Underground.
Can't remember which year it changed to Birmingham. What a trek that was. Only went once as I felt shattered going home on the train/underground and then bus!

The show moved in 1991 to the NEC.

We have in the past gone down from Scotland and back in a day to having a day off and going back again.

It's no different really to the big horse shows. There has been a lot of controversy in recent years about show horses being massively overweight, it's true, most were. Judges now mostly mark down very overweight animals and you don't see the galloping lard tubs that were almost de rigeur 5 years ago. Still got some way to go though!

The UK KC changed the Lhasa standard to exclude the even bite and have only the reverse scissor - top teeth tightly behind the bottom.
America still includes the even bite and Australia rejected many other changes as well.

The Tibetan Terrier at Crufts was my favourite with Gilly, of course, and well done to her winning BIS.

Ah that cant be good for the breed in the end, theyre such beautiful little dogs. that tt was a beautiful example, cobby and square, our own dog is a bit too rectangular. she stacked herself and held her own tail up, a lot of tts in judging had to have their tails held for them by their handlers

Crufts isnt evil, there are i think 12 breeds? that have to have a vet checks them when they win there breed class. GSD is one of those breeds but when you see it stacked up against the other dogs they have more of a sloping back because of the way they are stood up where as all other dogs are stood 4 square.
Nobody can make a dog do any of the things they show on crufts, fly ball, agility and showing they love it.

None of the dogs failed the vet checks this year as far as i know
