Swimming pool in the kitchen!!

Am after ideas of how to stop ds (14months) emptying the dogs water bowl all over the kitchen floor. Obviously need fresh water available to our lovely pup all of the time but the constant swimming pool in the kitchen is driving me mad! Have tried moving the bowl but ds notices it straight away. Any ingenious ideas??!!! :-)

Could you put it in a crate or in a small space big enough for pup but not for your ds?
The only other answer is to teach your ds it's for the dog and not him to play with, my worry is he is unsupervised long enough to empty the bowl, if he is able to do that before you can stop him how do you stop him pulling on the pup or falling on him?

Very large heavy earthenware pot type bowl, that he can't lift.

Keep DS and dog seperated with the dog on the same side as his bowls? Or move the bowls upstairs maybe? Obviously that won't work if your dog is a downstairs only dog
