flying to nz with dog

Hi I'm hoping someone in the know will see this query.I'm emigrating to New Zealand from Ireland and bringing my dog, at vast expense. All the good pet transport companies seem to operate from the UK-has anyone used one from Ireland that they were happy with and that they would recommend?

It's hard to find any reviews on the few that exist!

New Zealand is the most difficult country in the world to export a dog to. It is really important that both the vet and the export company have done New Zealand before.
I have just had to put together a program for export to New Zealand and it will take a minimum of 6 months due to the new rabies requirement. You are going to spend a lot of time at the vets with all the vaccinations, blood tests, faecal tests and treatments that need to be given. Our estimate of costs have put it at about £800 for the veterinary work.
I say all of this to emphasis how important it is to get it right one incorrect bit results in either the dog returned to the UK (it happens) or 6 months in quarantine in NZ rejoin ping through all the hoops.

Thanks lonecat-yes I believe it's quite a palaver. She has had her rabies injection so far, and this was something I found out about late, and the fact she can only leave the country 6 months after this. I've got all the paraphernalia from MAF in New Zealand and it's all a bit daunting, but am still going to go for it nevertheless.
When you say you've put together a programme-I take it you're in the business in some capacity?

I'm a panel 2 OV so defra licenced vet to complete export paper work for pets. I also several other even more boring panels.
Whenever, we are approached by a client for an export we get a sample export health certificate from DEFRA and put together the program so are easy UAE springs to mind others very tricky Aus and NZ.
