Currently fast asleep in his crate. I am sleeping downstairs in case he wakes needing to go out. Fingers crossed i get a few uninterrupted hours. Night.

Hi insickness, I have your number now, will text you. The days seem to be disappearing in doggy cuddles and picking up poo at the moment! I just weighed him at 3lb 13oz. Such a happy boy and pleased to meet everyone. What name do you have?

Ok great. We are going to call ours Bella. Took ages trying to decide on a name that none of us would feel silly calling out in the park/garden etc, was easy to say AND was not already the name of a relative/DS classmate/friend's child!! Also I think there are lots more 'cuter' doggy names for boys than girls somehow? Just been adding to my Puppy Stuff wishlist on Amazon!! It's growing by the minute.

Expect everyone will think you are a Twilight fan too. I do hope we can get Bella and Baxter together as soon as Bella is settled in.

Found a programme on Sky today called 'Puppy SOS', have put it on series link.

We tucked him up in bed at 10pm, hot disc out the microwave and under his bed then snuggled him under his blanket. DH described him as "Lord Muck" tonight! Just hope I get another quiet night.

Another quiet night, hope we have cracked it. Going to try some lead training in the garden later.

insickness just to say if you call Bella in any park local to me you get mobbed by Labradors / retrievers and doodles ,I think it would top the poll for popular dog names along with Molly and Lucy , would hate your dachshund to get crushed in the rush !

insicknessandinhealth · 10/03/2013 20:53

Yep, good point. We've had such difficulties picking a name. Our shortlist was Mia, Meg, Bella, Dusty and Nelly. My 5 year old DS is really fixated on Bella now though. Maybe some helpful Mumsnetters can help us decide!

Floralnomad · 10/03/2013 21:21

Have a walk round a few local parks and see what you can pick up , it may just be a local to here thing . Off your list I like Mia , but what about Della as a variation .

needastrongone · 10/03/2013 21:41

Della is a hit for me, or Dusty from your list.

LadyTurmoil · 10/03/2013 21:59

What about Dellia? I have a friend (human) with that name and it's quite unusual

LadyTurmoil · 10/03/2013 22:00

Sorry, typo there! I meant Delli!

SecondhandRose · 10/03/2013 22:44

Insickness, ours is also Baxi, Mr Poo and Sausage. Although I can't imagine any of those are very helpful!

Here's a few more; Fennel, Saffron, Liquorice, Dilly, Primrose, Bridie and Betty. Or there is always Mrs Sausage!
