Recommendations for a good dog brush?

We have 6 month golden lab, our trousers are covered in golden hair. I do groom him with one of those soft plastic ones with ridges but not much seems to get brushed out. Until it all lands on our clothes of course.
I wash his bedding regularly but the hairs seems to stick like glue to it - clean but hairy!
Any ideas or do we just live with it?

It could just be his puppy fur coming out so it may get better soon. Otherwise you could try a furminator which you can get off ebay for under a tenner.

punter - is it the zoomgroom you use? We've always used it for our lab and get a lot of hair out but need to use it for at least 20 mins. He gets an antler chew, kept just for grooming sessions, to keep him occupied.
Think of it as a massager rather than a brush and use it in all directions, circular motion etc, it seems to take a while for the hair to loosen then loads comes out. He still sheds but a zoomgroom session every other day keeps it manageable.
The furminator didn't help at all because it's designed to remove dead fluffy undercoat but its the outer hairs that get everywhere and stick to clothes.

I use a furminator on our Anatolian Shepherd but she has a double coat and sheds like a good'un so it works really well. She also loves being hoovered with our Henry and seems to think it's her own personal massage thingy - she is very big though.

My lab hates getting brushed so we use a furminator as i can give her a quick going over and get loads of hair out.

Have always used a rubber curry comb, normally used for horses. Great at getting hair out and soft.
