I bought a dog drying bag. It might have changed my life.

Oh. My. God. Ok, so he looks ridiculous. Yes, he rolls around like Houdini attempting to escape a straitjacket. Ok, so he glares at me in utter disgust. BUT, I put one muddy, wet dog in to it, and 40 minutes later I removed a dry clean dog. It's some kind of voodoo/witchcraft, obviously, but I don't care. I didn't have to power hose the kitchen.

Chickens - link. NOW.

Purleeeeessseeee.

Only part of dog ownership I dislike, I honestly love the rest!

Hullygully · 19/02/2013 13:47

gimmee

coffeeinbed · 19/02/2013 13:49

Chicken where?
Please, change my life for the cleaner and better!

ToomuchWaternotWine · 19/02/2013 13:55

Ooooh think I may need that is it cheaper than a steam mop?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 19/02/2013 13:56

Tada!

I should add that he was lying in front of the patio doors for those 40 minutes, which aided and abetted the drying/cleaning process. But bloody hell, I am vair impressed.

So you just zip em in, no buckets of water, no shampoo, no mud splodges up the walls?

coffeeinbed · 19/02/2013 14:01

Thank you!

ChinUpChestOut · 19/02/2013 14:03

I love the idea of it. But would the Beagle?

Although if I threw a few treats in there too..............?

Bet the zip would go :(

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 19/02/2013 14:04

Yep. Now, I made sure he was totally knackered out from a long walk before I attempted zipping. Therefore he was too wrecked to make a real escape attempt and fell asleep promptly. When I released him, I just shook the dry dirt out of the the bag and dried it out on the line. Awesome.

The zip is quite heavy duty, but with a lot of wriggling would slide down. I think I'll add some kind of press stud for the neck bit, just to make it more secure. Great after a muddy walk if you're going to stick them in the car, I reckon.

We have hotter dog fleeces for our spaniels when they are wet, astounding how quickly they dry in them!!

FloatyBeatie · 19/02/2013 14:10

I love the idea of this. But I'm sure that my dog would have 50 fits at the prospect of being zipped up in a bag. Does anyone have positive experience of using one with an edgy terrier that can turn mid-air somersaults and pass his body like water through holes much smaller than himself?

ImNotaPheasantPlucker · 19/02/2013 14:34

I can feel a 'we may need to spend some money...' conversation coming on!

TerraNotSoFirma · 19/02/2013 14:53

I need two of those, my kitchen has never been properly clean since getting a second dog.
Not sure my GSD or my setter puppy are going to be impressed though. :)

DeepRedBetty · 19/02/2013 15:05

Sew some velcro onto any bits where the zip's giving up. These things are brilliant.

D0oinMeCleanin · 19/02/2013 17:42

i'm trying to imagine getting my dogs into one of those [shudder]

devil dog would quite simply not allow himself to be put in it, whippy would go in and then become convinced that her world had ended Grin

belindarose · 19/02/2013 17:47

What size did you get, chickens? I think it would change my life too.

notapizzaeater · 19/02/2013 17:52

Oooh looks fab - we have a paw plunger (also on amazon), I fill it with hot water before we go out and it's cooled by the time we get back, stick each paw in it and just dry.

needastrongone · 19/02/2013 17:55

Chickens. Ordered for the 12 quid it cost, it's worth a pop. I also have somebody to blame if it doesn't work!!!!

Plus, puppy is a complete softie, rather pathetic and will probably just accept being trapped in a bag for an hour!!!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 19/02/2013 18:15

I have the size 4 I think, belinda. The 18 inch neck one.

SpicyPear · 19/02/2013 18:23

I linked to these aaages ago and no one took any interest. But Chickens posts about them and suddenly the whole world wants one...

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 19/02/2013 18:27

Aw, Spicy. It might have been you that gave me the idea :)

(Pic of pissed off looking dog in a bag on my profile, btw Grin)

Shesparkles · 19/02/2013 18:27

I'm tempted to get one for the pup for sheer entertainment value Grin

FellatioNels0n · 19/02/2013 18:31

I like. But one of my dogs is menkle and he'd drop dead of stress if I put him in one of those. He'd flail around until he killed himself. I know he would. He's neurotic a pain the arse.
