I think my dog might have kennel cough

My young dog started coughing yesterday it's worse today, it's a dry hacking cough and she sometimes coughs up some bile.

I'll go to the vets first thing, assuming the vet confirms it is there anything I should know that the vet might not tell me?

You should tell the vet you suspect kennel cough when you ring, as they might not want you to bring the pup into the waiting room since he could be infectious (e.g. they might ask you to wait outside in your car, if driving, and the vet will come to you; or whisk you straight into a room instead of having you wait with everyone else).
