Can we have a "proud of my puppy thread?"

I know this is totally boasting, but my puppy is my 1st dog (had one while growing up but my mam was in charge of him) She was 16/17 weeks when we got her and we've now had her for 5 weeks. In that time she is completely toilet trained (odd accident if i leave her-bit of SA i think :( ), she has learnt(learned?not sure of correct grammar)
sit,
down,
paw,
leave it,
take it,
come (though haven't tried it off lead with dogs around),
close the door (lazy me lol),
bang (play dead),
find it (hide treats round the room)
stay,
speak,
think thats it. I'm so proud of her, but also me for actually teaching her. My dp is not interested in her at all so i don't really have anyone else to brag too,so you lot are getting it Grin Feel free to add your pups/dogs achievements. :)

Now if only i could get her to heel...

My puppy now 8 months old is just the funniest most ridiculous dog I've ever owned. He does all the things I want to do (apart from severe travel sickness but I now realise its a physical problem) not becasue I'm a good trainer but because he's just so easy. He's happy all of the time I never realised how much of a sense of humour dogs can have my other dog (middle aged and sensible) thinks he's on acid!

She will probably grow on your husband . Mine finally agreed to a dog under duress and we got a 15 week old Patterdale from Battersea , definitely not the sort of dog he wanted ! However 2.5 years down the line he loves him ( even though he says he doesn't) as we have video and photographic evidence of them having a cuddle on the setee when he thought no one was looking . Your puppy sounds a delight .

She sounds great! My dh didn't want a dog initially but totally adores our puppy, but again would never admit it!

Can i just ask how you taught her to play dead. We are clicker training our pup and she can do sit, lay down, paw , leave, take it and watch. We're also working on spin! But can't think how to get her to play dead.

I went on the pedigree website and there was a video on there on how to do it.

I didnt do it exactly like this but close enough that it worked lol.

She was growing on dp-he even took her for a walk once- until she (allegedly) cracked the telly (see other thread) now he's gone back to disliking her. :( Hopefully she will grow on him again.

Shes not perfect,just had her round the park for a bit and she wouldn't stop jumping up at me and playing tug with the lead grrr. She did have a bit of off lead time too (no-one else around) Heres a pic i've just taken. Shes a lab x springer.

My pup is now 12 weeks and can sit, lie down, get down and leave. Today i let him off the lead for the first time and he sat by my feet until i moved and then stayed close by. I'm shocked at how easy he is to train (other than toileting which were having problems with), he was sitting for me at 9 week, my 5 year old Staffie still wont sit without me shouting 'sit' 20 times Grin.

Now I would boast about my puppy... But I know full well that all commands go out of the window if he sees another dog (or person...or bird...or interesting tree... or a sock... You get the picture...)!

My DH is a reluctant dog owner too and sometimes it is hard...he occaisionally shows signs of coming round... He did walk the dog when I was ill, dog pulled like a train after that as I hadn't trained DH!

My 5 month old lab puppy has had a tummy upset so had 24 hours starvation before beginning chicken and rice regime. Although he looked sad and pleading not once did he moan, whine or bark asking for food. Makes you wonder, how do they know they are not going to be denied food forever? very trusting and lovely. Feeling better today, no more runs, therefore back to madcap ways, no recall and greeting everyone in the street trying to put paws on shoulders!

Tried to teach 6mth old Pepper 'shake paw' yesterday. He does 'sit' so I sat him down and had a handful of treats ready. 20mins and 30 treats later he was still stareing at me blankly. I can't teach a new dog old tricks!

So proud of my Tilly. Been taking her to the park every day and letting her off lead if there is no-one else there. Today there was a friendly dog there so i let her off lead to have a play and when the owner shouted the other dog back Tilly went to follow, but i called her and she came.

I was telling dp just and he just yawned and "mmm"'d Angry
