Hi everyone,

You may have seen my other thread about thinking of getting a JRT puppy.

Well, we did. She had her first set of vaccinations on Friday, vet checked her over and said that she was in good condition. She vomited up some live worms on Friday night and has passed some dead worms in her stools. Not too worried about this, but...

Today she is very lethargic, has had diarrhea and has vomited up a clear frothy liquid. She ate some food this morning and has been drinking but she's not really interested in playing and just wants to curl up in her basket. The vet said to expect some diarrhea because of the food change.

Do I need to take her to the emergency vets? It's £80 plus whatever treatment they prescribe. I don't mind paying it but if this is kind of normal then I'll wait until tomorrow and take her to our normal vet...

Thanks. :)

Yes, vet this evening. She is too small and too young to delay, they can become dehydrated and go downhill very quickly. She will need worming as a matter of priority.

For your own peace of mind yes. Pimmsdog was very sick last night, vomited 16 times, I phoned out of hours vets and she said to bring him in in the morning as he is 2 and was fine in himself. Took him thismorning and got an anti emetic and some pro biotics and he hasn't been sick since. Feeling very sad and sorry for himself but I can't describe the relief when she said he was probably ok but taking him was the right thing.

Thank you. She has had some water and hasn't been sick since. Emergency vet is in theatre at the moment so can't take her yet anyway... :/
