What do you think of the name "Bix" for a Wheaten

When we first talked about one of these dogs months ago we talked about potential names and I said "Weetabix" or "Bix" jokingly at the time , but now its time to make our minds up and Bix has stuck over the last few months and were struggling to think of alternatives, but is it daft? be honest. I am after more of a dog name than a little girl name if you get my meaning and if anyone has suggestions that would be great.

sounds like a good name i had a wheaten coloured cairn terrorist and his name was skips dont even know why i picked that name but i looked at him and that was that skips was his name for thwe next 15 years , enjoy your baby wheatens are lovely dogs

I'm going to pretend I'm on AIBU and be honest like you ask. I really don't like it for a girl. It's a bit odd sounding and when other dog walkers ask the name I think you'll get a lot of What alternatives have you considered?

One day I will have a Clumber spaniel and she will be called "Q" [bgrin]

my current dog is called wander i didnt name her the rescue in cyprus that she was dumped outside off named her and i cant think of another name as shes used to this one

In my head it sounds a tad like b*tch if you were to shout it out. I have a strange head though.
It reminds me of a Tucker at my local dog park, a lot of people avoided the owners as they thought they were very rude.He was a lovely little dog though.

I think it would be fine. My dog has a real name but not one I have come across for another dog yet and we get lots of 'oh' responses

My fave is Audrey. Love it. Billie second. Bixie works much better than Bix. Closest I've met is a Pixie.

I would say not Honey as I've met lots of them and it sounds a bit twee. Indy I've only come across on male dogs so wrongly assumed it was a "boy" name.

The only Wheaten I know is an old boy called Rooney, named before the footballer came about. His owner is mortified and always at great pains to point out he's not named after Wayne!

Too many dogs called Honey and Indy already. I really like Bix or Bixie, it's unusual and if other people think you're shouting a rude word, so what?! Minnie would be 2nd preference but maybe a bit too twee for a bouncy wheaten? I find boys names much easier than girls!

I like Bixie. My brothers dog is Dixxy. Our pup is Sadie - i think the 'ee' end of name does help when calling them.

Bixie's lovely, although people might mistake it for Pixie - did someone already said that?
Our Border is Nellie, which we don't come across very often.
I heard of a Coco recently, which I liked, although it is a bit twee.

I like Bixie, or Audrey....we have a wheaten cairn terrorist too, his sister lives locally and she is called Betty, she's fabulous! We also have a chihuahua with a ridiculous name which I cannot disclose on here as it will totally out me
