I'm a novice dog owner, so forgive me if you already knows this tip.

If you forget your gloves whilst out dog walking (clean) poo bags over each hand, keeps them toastie, doesn't look great but if its an emergency, needs must.

This should be in Style and Beauty, surely?

When it's raining a pair of latex gloves under your normal gloves will keep your hands warm and dry Grin

I'm very excited by this idea. I wear two pairs of gloves but my hands are still painfully cold, so maybe I shall put poo bags on over my two pairs of gloves and all will be well. I'm sure the look will take off Grin

Top tip

When using mature cheddar for training take extra.

You will munch on it on the way round. Your dog will recall and heel in the manner of Velcro, simply to ensure you don't scoff the bloody lot Blush

Top tip.

When your dog does a poo in an obscure unreachable place pick up the next poo you see on the path. Sod's law dictates that you will stand in a poo that day if you don't pick one up Sad

I do that Naysa - we call it Poo Karma Grin

Naysa · 18/01/2013 15:08

Same Grin
My dog is a little shit has a knack for pooing in hard to reach places so we just pick up another poo so we don't get bad poo karma Wink

ImNotaPheasantPlucker · 18/01/2013 15:13

Poo karma is a known fact.

The only time I didn't pick up pup's poo (far away on the other side of the field, with no realistic way of me finding it, but I still didn't try) I had the day from hell.

Two year old tantrummed ALL DAY, neighbour's dog escaped and spent the day in my kitchen, it rained, cat weed in the kitchen, and on it went .......

I've never not scooped since!

Pithlit · 18/01/2013 16:37

When it's really cold a full poo bag is nice and warm. Grin

Watch where you step when picking up...dogs often choose popular spots to poop. I seem to suffer from an anti-karma and put my foot into some other buggers pile when dutifully picking my dog's doings. Angry

I think I saw the ultimate in lazy dog walking today. A car pulled up at the park gates. The driver got the dog out and ushered it into the park. He then got back into the car and proceeded to drive v e r y slowly along the perimeter of the park with two wheels on the pavement. When I passed him he was eating his breakfast while driving. Needless to say he didn't get out of the car to pick up his dog's poo and the dog was obviously used to the procedure as it stayed walking near the railings.
