How did you prepare your dogs for new arrival?

Hi all, my wife and I are expecting our first baby due the end of June, we have 2 dogs, A Staffie who is about 14 mths old and a terrier mix about 4-5 yrs old, both are good with children when friends have visited but looking for some pointers on getting them prepared for the new arrival and introducing them to the baby.

Both dogs are as soft as soap and love people but also enjoy their cwtchs :-) ( literally will climb on my lap and put a paw on either shoulder and then rest their head on my shoulder) is this something I'm going to have to stop?

I set up the pram and left it in the living room to get them used to seeing it, hoping that the need to keep sniffing/jumping off would wear off. I also needed to get them out of the habit of thinking my bed was theirs so a few months before I was due I put a gate across the stairs (I think it was harder for me than the dogs)

Thanks the gate is a good idea, will get one set up as they both sleep in the bedroom atm.
