Looking for a dog

After much consideration I have decided it IS the right time to offer a home to a dog/bitch. Does anyone know of one that would benefit from rehoming?
Not a large one, a small mongrel would be best. I have an 11yr old son though it would not be his responsibility. I live in North Devon. I can travel to view/talk. I have dog experience. I'm not looking for a puppy though a young animal would be considered. I look forward to suggestions/offers.
Thank you.

I'm in North Devon too. Have you had a look at Dogs Trust in Ilfracombe? There is also a North Devon based Greyhound Sanctuary.

I know that there are also local branches of German Shepherd and Labrador rescue charities. I know that you are looking for a mongrel, but some of the breed rescues have cross breeds too.

I have a dog from the Greyhound Sanctuary. I've also met the most stunning German Shepherd that i would have taken on if I didn't already have 5 dogs at the time. If you want any contact details please let me know.

Have you looked here poundpuppy.org/doglistp.htm?1 You could also look at www.dogpages.org.uk/sth-west.htm which lists rescues in the South West. Good luck with your search Smile

There's also www.manytearsrescue.org/ which is based in Wales but have foster dogs all over the place - you can do a search by area on their website and they also have an FB page www.facebook.com/pages/Many-Tears-Animal-Rescue/232282896797791?fref=ts
