What are your thoughts about purina pro plan?

My behaviourist has recommended I try this as doggy isn't eating her dry food (jwb) is it any good? Is more expensive than jwb but not sure if its any better?

I switched FROM this to Symply. Permapup smells less and her coat s much softer since.

I thought jwb was supposed to be really good?

Expensive and full of rubbish. Certainly no better than JWB.

Hmm doesn't sound good. She is refusing to eat dry food, we were advised when we first got her to mix in rice with her dry to get her used to it which we did, but now it's gone, gradually. Absolutely no interest whatsoever. We are now on day two of the hunger strike!

How old is the dog?

She is 6 months old so on the puppy food. Not sure what to do. Behaviourist said when she's hungry she'll eat but it has been two days now, apart from the odd treat for training she's had nothing.

You'd think as a rescue, she'd love her food but she really isn't fussed, also turns her nose up at any biscuit type treat! Fussy thing!

She will eat when she is hungry, a healthy dog will not starve itself, however if you want to change to a wet food then try Nature Diet trays or similar.

Might be a red herring but I saw a thread on here about teething, and that pups can often go off dry food when really teething and to soak the food with water a little (like in the early days)to see if it helps? Might be worth a go?

Thanks, will try wetting it a bit. Just given her a rawhide chew as I felt so sorry for her but she's not eating that either! I wonder if she's ill..

My dog is on jwb and she doesn't love it but will eat it if I mix a teaspoon of tuna and some warm water. Could try that?

We moved our pup from Bakers to Purina pro plan puppy. It was great move as she is so much calmer on it.

Thank goodness! Mixed her old jwb and pro plan together with a bit of warm water and she's scoffed the lot!
Maybe a combo of hunger and new food and water? Who knows, just glad she's eating again!
Its true I guess, a dog won't go more than two days without eating!

A bit of Nature Diet mixed in with dry food always seems to work in our house. More about Purina here Personally I wouldnt give it to my dog but its a personal choice of course.....

Personally I wouldn't use it as it has a lot of wheat in it, which is basically filler and of no nutritional value to the dog. NatureDiet is good but it does sound like pup was perhaps just struggling with it without water to soften.
