Urgent advice needed - kennel cough and immunosuppresed child

So my lab seems to have kennel cough - coughing/retching in excitement bringing up a frothy mucous. Looked up Dr Google and he fits the symptoms.

Child with cancer and on chemotherapy.

Google says it can be transferred dig to human in cases of suppressed immunity.

Emergency clinic at vets open at 11. But panicking in the meantime. Keeping dog isolated in utkity room as I can clean the floor.

Any advice?

Sorry I don't know about kennel cough but I do have personal experience of chemo.

Please don't take any risks - arrange for someone else to have your dog until it's better.

Have had advice from 4 vets who have each told me it is not transferable to my son. Dog has been put on antibiotics as a precaution and will be kept apart from my son for two weeks in the utility room.. No walks either and bed rest for dig for a speedier recovery.

minmooch as if you have not got enough going on to add a dog with kennel cough to the mix. I am glad the vet could reassure you it is not transferable.

Hoping things calm down soon.
