My dog just vommited a perfect poo. What should we do?

Exactly that, she has just been sick and it looks like a perfectly formed poo. She's a three year old cocker x cavalier.
What should we do?

Mine (retriever/poodle cross) has done this a couple of times. She occasionally eats her own poo (gross), and I have put it down to that. She has never seemed ill with it, but it is somehow doubly vile to clear up. Hope it's just a one off and nothing serious.

To stop them eating their own poo put a but of pineapple in their food. It comes out in their poo and for some reason it stops them eating it. Strange but true.

Eating poo is quite common there's a name for it but can't remember what. It's not great for them though (as well as being a bit gross!). I can remember our dog puking poo as well. Lovely!

She probably ate more. Dogs eat disgusting things, and their stomoach acid is very different than ours. She'll be ok. I don't see how poo is worse than something that's been dead for three days.

Actually I would get her checked out.
I know you can have gut problems that cause stools to move up through the gut in huns. Couldn't a dog get the same thing

She has never eaten her own poo or another dogs before. I think she was hungry and that's the only reason she did, but she didn't get very much as I stopped her immediately.

Hahaha. Not just Huns. Humans too.

Is she OK otherwise? If she seems OK then certainly keep an eye on her but if there's any other symptoms (lethargy, pale gums or whatever) then I'd ring your vet - guess it'll be an emergency one now but better safe than sorry. Hope she's OK. My late dog used to eat a lot of poo, when she had the opportunity, but she never vomited it straight back up.

Eeeuuugh, I was horribly drawn to read this, despite being squeamish about dog poo and vomit! You lot must love your dogs to put up with that. I'd be running a mile in the opposite direction! I now know for sure that I could NEVER get a dog. Kudos to you all.

Its called stercoraceous vomit, any chance she hads an obstruction? Is she otherwise well?

Keep an eye on her. If she does it again then get her to the vet. It could be a stomach/bowel obstruction or peritonitis. A friends dog had this and almost died. A one off incident is almost certainly from eating a poo, but more that once needs looking at.

She has just been sick again but it was normal this time, she has layed down next to me and gone to sleep. I think we'll keep an eye on her and see how she is.

Quick update.
We kept a close eye on her all evening and this morning she seemed fine, we had to go out in the garden each time she went to the loo to make sure she was ok and I'm glad to say it came out of the right end! Never thought I would be pleased to see her go to the loo!! (Sorry for the detail of my posts).
