Feeding my puppy

I am currently feeding my 6 month Lab three times a day at 6am, 12 noon and 6pm. The problem is she is consistently waking at around 4.30/ 5am and whining and yowling.
If we get up and let her out she will go back into her bed but continue to whine and yowl until 6 am and she has been fed. She is then happy to trot back to bed for a few more hours. From this i take it that she is not really needing out but she is hungry so we are trying to ignore her until 6am (which is hard!).
How can i best spread her feeding so she isn't hungry so early? Should i just be feeding her twice a day?
Thanks.

Maybe try feeding later in the evening. I have an almost 5 month old lab cross, he eats at 7.30am, 1ish and 7.30 - 8pm. He still sometimes whines to be let out at an unsociable hour, but is more in the habit now of waking at 6.45am on the dot!

jenski I think we will need to try that. We did manage to push her feeding times forward by an hour when the clocks changed so we should be able to do it again.
