can't believe cherry is nearly three and this is the first time this problem has come up, that is depressing, that aside. we are leaving at 5.30pm on sat (is dh's birthday) and dont really want to come back until 11 which is far too long to leave the dogs. but they usually just chill in the evening and obviously slepp all night when we are in bed. so do you think they would be ok as long as they had lots of walks and several frozen kongs and maybe some new stag bars? otherwise what do others do?

That's longer than I would leave them so when we go out in the evening I take them to a dog sitter's house or the dog sitter comes to ours depending on timings.

I just leave my dog.

I don't go out often, but she is more than happy to sleep all the time I am there so she can do so when I'm not.

I will normally fit in an extra energetic walk prior to her being left though.

As long as they're not going to bark and disturb people I'd go . My dog occasionally gets left for that length of time and TBH I'm not sure dogs can tell the difference between 4 hours or 6 hours ! I'm fairly certain mine can't tell the time .Smile
