It is a shame that bereavement "services" are available. Everyone surrounding the actual event doesn't seem to care. For example, our insurance company (Direct Line) wrote to us days after to say
"sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. we have adjusted your insurance policy. for this there has been a £83.16 admin charge."
Seriously? "sorry" and "£83.16" admin charge do not go in the same sentence. I, naturally, burst in to tears. Just horrible, horrible people that would send out such a letter days after you've lost a pet.
We would have cancelled the policy and switched but our other dog is 12. No-one else would insure her now.
