After a couple of weeks steppin over a large plank between kitchen and open entrance into second room DH was fed up and had idea of stairgate in the opening to keep puppies in the kitchen (2 pups). Yesterday he visited Argos as they had one on offer, but of course came back with more expensive 'delux' version. Spent yesterday evening beavering away in 'he man' mode fitting said gate. Failed totally to notice smaller pup (Basil) walk through the gap between the gate and the wall. Basil sat down next to him and watched with interest as the gate bolts were tightened. DH rose to his feet triumphantly but then noticed Basil looking up at him from wrong side. Where's a camera when you need one!
