Removing smell of dog pee from floorboards

Hi
I'm desperately trying to find a solution for long term dog pee. My house has lovely old wood flooring throughout. It's varnished and looks beautiful but the smell of dog pee in the sittingroom is really bad. The previous owners had 2 dogs and I think the pee is very old. Some web sites suggest it may be necessary to replace the wood but it's a very large room and the boards stretch into the hall. We can't afford to replace it all. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

you probably would need to replace them or cover them over after sealing over the floor.

You could try Simple Solution hard floor smell remover. I don't know if it will do the job but it might. I think steamers are brilliant at things that otherwise seem impossible. They are very good at getting rid of doggy smells.
