what to do about piles?

Can dogs get piles? My 12 month old Springer cross had anal gland problems which have been sorted out (with a daily dose of bran flakes).

However he still licks his bottom a lot and I wonder if the extra fibre has possibly given him constipation and then piles as it does indeed look quite red and irritated down there.

Does anyone here know if there is an easy remedy for piles in dogs (ideally not requiring anything hands-on!).

If he's looking red and irritated, then off to the vet

Could be all kinds of things, possible gland problems again, a fissure, or even something a bit more serious? How's his worming?
