Staffy bowels are grim.

Raw diet is not an option for us right now, although I did try it briefly.

Kibble-wise:

Originally on Hills - bowels smelly
Tried James Wellbeloved - bowels still smelly
Purina Beta - the smelll!!!!

Any suggestions for kibble that will reduce the emissions?

My dog is on Burns and can still clear a room. That might be down to his dishwasher forraging, though Blush

Scuttlebutter · 27/09/2012 12:48

We're a four greyhound household, so I feel your pain. Grin

Things improved enormously when we switched over to raw, but when they feel like it, they can still create a miasma of stench. Also not helped at the moment by one grey who is now mostly toothless and has simultaneously decided that she no longer likes the raw food so is trying out a range of other feeds with "interesting" effects. On Monday afternoon, I cracked and dragged DH to our local Yankee Candle shop where we loaded up the car with industrial quantities.

We found James Wellbeloved the least stinky of the kibbles, though it varied with flavour.

HullyGullys bowel emissions are best with Skinners with rice range. And puppy farts can normally be deadly so we are thrilled with the improvement

Lougle · 27/09/2012 14:03

Skinners with rice...added to my list.

James Wellbeloved turned his emissions absolutely rancid.

I recommend Orijen dried dog food.

InvisibleHotPinkWeasel · 27/09/2012 14:06

Another bonus to Skinner is the price Wink

pumpkinsweetie · 27/09/2012 14:07

It must be a staff thing, as my dog is the same

Floralnomad · 27/09/2012 14:10

It's not a staffy thing , there's some kind of doodle dog that walks on the same field as us and the stench hits you about 300 m away . It must be chronic when it goes in the garden!

Lougle · 27/09/2012 14:13

Abra1d - I love my dog. I really do. I don't love the price of Orijen Shock

Nature diet helped here...not kibble but packs.

beancurd · 28/09/2012 14:12

God apart from the fish one, never buy the fish one.

Ha, oh it is beyond grim.

Once a local seller told me there had been a fatality in one of their product vats, I opened my mouth to comment on how awful for those involved but instead I said, 'Christ hope it wasn't the fish one!' the staff member looked at me like I was a heartless freak. Don't think he had ever opened a fish pack though.

Lougle · 28/09/2012 22:21

Yummy fish Grin

So I think we're going to try Burn's potato and pork.
