She keeps being humped

My 18months (ish) bitch has been humped continually in the last 2 weeks by male dogs when out on our walks/ around other dogs.

She's a rescue and was spayed just before we got her.

A couple of dog owners have told me that sometime the operation fails or sometimes a bitch will still give off a smell. There's been no blood or anything else to make me suspect that she was in season.

Should I be concerned? Could the op have failed? I really don't want any puppies.

I'm not sure how it could fail? Confused I mean unless parts grow back, but that seems highly unlikely Grin

Some dogs just like to hump. My Dad's male lurcher was on the receiving end of a nasty attack a while back for humping my male terrier. It's a way of showing excitement.

Dogs hump, my (neutered male) dog frequently humps both DH and me.

Other dogs, both male and female frequently hump him too.

I don't think its a big deal tbh except for the fact that he always manages to hump my leg when I have an audience

Dogs hump through play, excitment and for heirarchy. It's embarrassing when other dog owners don't understand. Be consistant and stop it as much as you can though. She could be a subserviant female and be inviting it.

I suppose you could try anti-mate spray to see if she is giving off a smell Hmm
