Our 13 year old collie is sick , he has a really high temperature, wont eat, wont move and has stopped doing everything.

The vet has given him 4-6 hours to improve, anti-biotics and a few other drugs.....if he doesn't get any better the prognosis looks very bad.

I am hoping for some good vibes to get me through

Some good news, he has got up to go into the garden to have a quick wee - couldn't get back in again but it's a start

Unfortunately it was all in vain, he died about 5pm with some sort of autoimmune condition that the vet couldn't diagnose as he was so ill.

We have had him for such a long time - since he was a tiny puppy, he'd been through 2 house moves, 2 babies, loads of holidays and such a lot of happy times - it will be so quiet without him.

There is currently a lot of weeping going on in the house- the children are quite distraught. He is, however, no longer in pain or distress.

So sorry to hear your sad news. You and your family have lots of lovely memories and as you say your boy is not suffering any more, but it is still so so sad for you all. xx
