Wee on carpet

I have a Bassett and every once in a while he does a wee on the same spot in the carpet. I always make sure he goes before we go out but he still occasionally does it.

The carpet is old, but I have a 13 month old son, what would you recommend to clean the carpet?

It's because there is still a bit of smell for the dog! Our sense of smell is like a postage stamp on a man's hanky, if the hanky is the dog's sense of smell. Simple Solution is good. If you don't have it, Biological soap powder should break down the amino acids. If you have a steam cleaner, it will kill everything. If you get rid of the carpet, remember to clean the floor beneath it! Don't worry about your son. He will be fine.

I have a steam cleaner in the cupboard that I haven't used since I bought it three years ago so will drag that out! I knew it would come in handy one day. Thank you.

A steam cleaner is a magic tool!!! It lifts hair and mud and dirt and crayons and in the places you really didn't think of! Glad to hear you have a use for your steam cleaner!

I have just been happily steam cleaning everything in sight, I can't believe I haven't used it before!

We have the same problem, I shampooed the carpet on Sunday and last night he weed on it again. I await a different suggestion. I have a steam cleaner so will use that tomorrow. I also bought a hand steamer I will also use that. Other than that I am stuffed. It's a new carpet I can't throw it out. We keep the door shut but he still manages to get in.
