Humping

My 1yo neutered lab boy was humped again today, Blush can someone with a bit more knowledge than me explain why do dogs do this? Also why despite him being neutered does he attempt to mount other neutered male dogs? He was neutered roughly 3 months ago.

And to lighten the tone I then walked past some walkers, one of whom asked where he'd been as he has all wet and shocked myself by saying "oh he hasnt been anywhere, he was humped by another lab who'd been swimming" and rolling in muddy puddles

Play mostly. It's behavioural usually and can be stopped by training, but once it becomes habit it can be hard to stop, neutering only makes a difference in less than 50% of cases IIRC.

Almost all dogs hump, my girls often hump each other when playing. My entire male dog humps less than the girls.
