Was walking on the beach today and started to chat to the owner of a small dog. When we were walking back she asked what my name was and she then introduced herself, very friendly and chatty. I asked her what the dogs name was and she said Gemma-Rose, her last dog had a double barrelled name also. She said you know she has only been up about ten minutes, (10.45) and I just told her you can't go out looking like that because it still had on its nightdress. Anyone else put a nightdress on their pets.

Hang on, so not only was the dog on a beach in a nightie, the nightie was put on the dog the evening before to sleep in????????
Confused

Is it still the school holidays?

ChickensArentEligableForGold · 14/08/2012 09:33

I am soooo getting some PJ's for Jasper

D0oinMeCleanin · 14/08/2012 09:41

Whippy wears jim jams in the winter. She out grew her last pair so I have been looking at new ones. I have found a lovely pair of pink fleece ones with sheep on .

She wouldn't wear them outside the house though, she has jumpers and coats for outside the house.

She said the dog wore a nightie to bed and as she wanted Gemma-Rose to go out she had to take off the nightie because she (the dog) was a mess. And yes feesh as far as I know it still is the school holidays.

I had to check I had got this straight.
But a nightie serves no purpose.

Dooin I assume for warmth yes? What if she needs a wee?

D0oinMeCleanin · 14/08/2012 10:24

Well she sleeps in a crate and doesn't wee overnight mainly but her PJs have a hole in the bottom area to prevent them being soiled.

Yes it's for warmth, little tiny whippety crosses are pathetically feeble little things and can't keep themselves warm because they don't have enough body fat Envy

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 14/08/2012 10:26

omfg!

I get warm fleecy clothes. If I try and get my head round a nightie on a hairy westie my brain starts whimpering and tries to hide.

This is my new favourite Whippy/Iggy/Whiggy shop

They've stopped selling the sheep ones Sad

I like the Go Wild In The Country collection though.

Her new collar is from there. It's getting grubby now though so she needs a new one or three [flexes credit card]

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 14/08/2012 10:41

You HAVE to get the cowboy ones.

HullyGully will be getting a Help for Heros Collar and lead for Christmas.

D0oinMeCleanin · 14/08/2012 10:48

I HAVE to get most things from there. I really shouldn't have clicked on this thread Blush

deste · 14/08/2012 11:46

It was a Lassa Apso if that helps and it was very hairy.

In that case

Dooin = normal
Beach Lady = bonkers

deste · 14/08/2012 15:44

Not drip feeding but she said it ate Special K for breakfast and ate what she ate at mealtimes but it did get some dog food as well.

"She wouldn't wear them outside the house though, she has jumpers and coats for outside the house."

We had a whippet x when I was growing up who had to wear clothes to keep her warm for the first couple of years. Unfortunately, this was in the 80s when there wasn't much in the way of couture for dogs - you could get coats, but they consisted of a flap of fabric that only covered their back. So, my mum had the 'brilliant' idea of dressing the dog in my younger brother's old jumpers. These jumpers were from the 70s and more than a little garish. If anyone was in the Midlands circa 1983 and remembers seeing a really embarrassed teenage girl walking a medium sized black lurcher which was clad in a purple and orange striped polo-neck jumper - that was me Blush
