Keyhole spays

Hi,

I'm a vet student currently doing a research project into attitudes towards spaying dogs using a keyhole method. I'd really appreciate if you could take a minute to fill in my survey - it's only 10 questions long and is very quick!

Thank you very much!

I have completed the survey.

My own vets doesn't offer this but if I decide to get my remaining unspayed bitch spayed then I'd take her to a vet that does offer it, in fact, if I were happy with them I would change to that vet permenantly.

I've done it too - and would prefer a laparoscopic for my next bitch to be spayed. I would be very happy to use a different vet specifically for this if one were available.

Thank you so much - it's really interesting to hear people's views on this.

I've also completed this survey. It's a great idea, which is still not sufficiently widely known. We have a foster bitch with us at the moment, who is just finishing her season. She will be spayed in October (with us on pyo-watch in the meantime) and I'd be delighted to take her to a vets that offer this, if there was one along the M4 corridor in S Wales. So much so I would be quite happy to pay the difference between this and the conventional method for the foster bitch.

My dog showed no pain after conventional spaying and was back to normal within 24 hours (but exercise restricted) No nasty plastic collar either. So why pay more for keyhole surgery?
